What Guests Say About Cornell's Landmark Hotel

Every Cornell student, parent, and alumnus knows that the Statler is a gem. The views alone justifies anyone’s stay. At sunset the whole campus frame turns gold. I was in Ithaca for my dissertation defense and the hotel staff were so accommodating and encouraging. No off-campus property matches the experience. What sets the Statler apart, though, is the student staff. Every interaction, at the front desk, in the restaurant, with the valets, with in-room dining, carried the same quality (warm, attentive, quietly precise). You can feel the training, and you can also feel that they genuinely care about how the stay goes. The room itself is extremely comfortable and thoughtfully laid out, with good light and a proper work desk. The food is so many steps above hotel fare, and the cocktails are tremendous. Lastly, there is something lovely about being looked after by the next generation of hospitality leaders, on the campus where they are learning and growing into that craft. I stayed at The Statler Hotel while visiting Ithaca, NY, and had a great experience. The staff were attentive, friendly, and always greeted us as we came in. We booked a king suite, which offered a wonderful view. The hotel has several on‑site restaurants. I didn’t get a chance to try them this time, but it’s convenient to have options if you don’t feel like going out. In the lobby, the hotel provides complimentary muffins and coffee from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m., and in the afternoon they offer refreshing lemon water or fruit‑infused water. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay and can definitely see myself returning in the future.

We held a Baby Shower and had family throughout the US stay at the hotel and it all exceeded our expectations. I want to personally thank Melissa for all her hard work and excellent support given to make the Baby Shower so special! Thank you!
