What Guests Say About Cornell's Landmark Hotel

Beds were very comfortable and the staff was so friendly and welcoming. Great location too—made everything super easy and convenient.

It's a lovely hotel and we enjoyed our stay but it frankly is ridiculously overpriced compared to the other full service hotels in town. The Statler often runs 30-40% more expensive than the nearby Marriott, Hilton, and Hotel Ithaca that are comparable in style and service. The whole hotel, while in fine shape, is a bit dated. The rooms and public areas need a refresh. The $30/day parking is unnecessarily high. I think the place is living on legacy nostalgia. For the price of a regular room here, I'd rather get a suite at the Marriott which is just as close to west campus and closer to downtown dining and bars.

I dined at the hotel as part of a wedding. Elaborate appetizers served both buffet style and by waitstaff were very good. Charcuterie, falafel, sliders and more all were well prepared and presented. The dinner salad was spare, yet tasty. My filet was properly cooked, very tender and delicious. A California cab sauv paired nicely. The fingerling potatoes and asparagus were wonderful. The wedding cake and coffee very good. The staff are hotel school students. They were all gracious and eager to help. They provided a youthful international energy that was a pleasure.
