As part of Cider Week FLX, on Sunday, October 6th from 12 - 4 pm, Cornell Orchards Store will host apple enthusiasts of all ages for a free afternoon of walks through Cornell's research orchards, talks from educators and researchers, and a chance to taste fresh-pressed juice, made from dozens of different apples, including traditional European hard cider varieties. Additionally, there will be a reserved, 21+, meet-the-cider maker market where for the price of a four-bottle tote bag ($5) you can sample and purchase dozens of ciders from Finger Lakes growers and producers with ties to Cornell's Hard Cider program, served alongside a special selection of cider pairing snacks provided by Cornell Catering. Participating cideries include: Black Diamond Farm Cider Embark Craft Ciderworks Eve's Cider Grisamore Cider Kite & String Cider Lake Drum Cider New York Cider Co. Redbyrd Cider Rootstock Cider South Hill Cider Reservations are only required for the hard cider tasting (tours and talks are free and do not require a reservation), and walk up purchases are welcome. The first 300 tickets sold include a four-bottle tote bag so that you can purchase your favorite ciders to take home with you.
