General Health & Safety

Masks and Face Coverings: High quality face masks must be worn in classrooms, laboratories, similar teaching settings, healthcare and COVID-19 testing facilities, busses, and Cornell-owned vehicles, including The Statler Hotel airport shuttle. 

Statler Hotel Staff Members: Staff members complete Cornell University's daily health screening prior to arriving to work if they are experiencing symptoms. All unvaccinated staff members participate in Cornell's surveillance testing program.  Appropriate PPE will be worn by all staff members based on their role and responsibilities and in adherence to state and local regulations and guidance. Every staff member has been trained on enhanced hygiene and safety protocols, as well as how to respond and report presumed cases of COVID-19.

CDC Approved Cleaning: The hotel's schedule of cleaning and sanitizing has been enhanced; this includes all public areas including doorknobs, handles & railings, elevators and other common touch points. All cleaning products have been approved by the CDC. Hand sanitizing stations have been added throughout the hotel in public areas. This includes the Registration Desk in the main lobby and entrances to all meeting rooms and restaurants. 

Your Arrival

  • The airport shuttle to/from the Ithaca airport is in operation and is thoroughly cleaned before and after each use. Staff members and guests must wear non-cloth masks during the shuttle service.
  • Bell staff will assist guests with bell carts and be disinfected daily
  • You may opt out of Housekeeping service upon check-in.
  • Wellness kits are available upon request, which include non-cloth face masks, sanitizing wipes, and hand sanitizer.

Your Room

  • Every guest room is expertly cleaned and sanitized, over and above our AAA award-winning standards.
  • Stayover housekeeping service is being provided. You may opt-out at anytime during your stay.
  • Air purifiers are available upon request.

Your Catering and Conference Planning Manager will assist you with all the requirements and keep you up to date as New York State Guidance and requirements change. The below list are highlights of the New York State event guidance and how we will keep you and your guests safe.   • Cleaning, sanitizing and disinfecting procedures and protective measures are modeled after CDC and EPA guidelines.
  • Guest sanitation stations are provided at one (1) station per meeting room and pre-function area.

Are staff and guests required to wear masks?

What enhanced cleaning measures are in place?

The Statler Hotel's cleaning, sanitizing and disinfection procedures and protective measures meet CDC and EPA guidelines. Staff members will increase the frequency of cleaning, disinfecting and sanitizing of high-touch surfaces and areas with EPA recommended cleansers capable of combating COVID-19. Additional staff members will be added in high-traffic areas, which include restrooms, lobbies and other public areas. 

Where is the best place to park?

Self-parking and Valet parking is available. If self-parking please come to the front circle of the hotel to unload. The bellman will assign you a parking space and you will be able to then go park your car in The Statler Hotel parking lot, which is next to Barton Hall. Your guestroom key will allow you to come and go from the lot. Valet and self-parking is $20 per day.

Does the hotel offer in-room dining?

Yes, The Statler Hotel offers in-room dining. The menu can be found on the guestroom TV. If you prefer your order in a to-go container and delivered contactless outside your door please let the server know upon ordering.

Are we able to make coffee in our guestrooms?

Yes, the Starbucks one-cup coffee maker is available in your guestroom. 

Is your fitness center open?

Yes, our fitness center is open and the frequency and scope of cleaning and sanitizing practices has been increased.
